Unvarnished, unfiltered, raw, bare, thick, and crunchy. Sometimes ethereal and serene, sometimes cumbersome, sometimes terrifying. An all improvised trip on the emotional seas through the universe of Crystal Beth. Recorded live at the Royal Room Seattle in August 2020, 21st century pandemic times.
From the artist: “Most years I perform over 150 live shows. Sharing those electric hovering breaths eye to eye with you are my most favorite place as an artist. And then BAM! In a single flash, the cheetah hit a wall, and all of that stopped. All live shows for the foreseeable future canceled. We will all remember where we were when the COVID-19 pandemic first impacted our lives. This is a snapshot of a particular moment in time. It was 5 months into the quarantine, playing my only show, a live concert stream broadcast from the Royal Room in Seattle, Washington on August 23, 2020. Inside the club were myself, my husband, and the engineer – always with masks on and at least 15 feet of distance between us. I had no set list, no agenda, no intention other than to stay present. The time came, I took off my mask, and set sail for an hour to explore the all of it. This is what happened.”
